Duet or trio harmony arrangement of the Irish 48 bar jig 'Banish Misfortune'. In my demo recording I play it as follows:
1st time: tune alone
2nd time: tune plus part 3
3rd time: tune plus part 2
4th time: all three parts together
...but the parts can be arranged in a different order if you prefer (you could even swap to a different part on the repeats, etc.).
It's scored for three violins with chords, but as with many of my arrangements it can be played on other instruments too. The harmony parts go too low for a standard D whistle or flute on this one (although those instruments can play the tune), but can be played on instruments that go as a low as a fiddle does. Alternatively, part 3 will fit on a flute if you transpose it up by one octave.
This tune works well in a set with "The Blarney Pilgrim" - which you can find here:

*NEW!* This download now also includes a bonus score for string quartet. I have added a cello part, and provided the viola part as either alto clef (viola) or treble clef (violin 3). There is also an alto clef version of the cello part up an octave for a viola to play if needed. The string quartet score includes individual instrumental parts.
PLEASE NOTE: the recordings and midi files included are just for the violin trio arrangement. The string quartet score is a bonus item which was added later and has not been recorded.
