This is a collection of sheet music for my own original compositions, presented in their simplest form: melody and chords, for violin and accompanist.

I mostly haven't transcribed the ornaments I play - only those that actually form part of the tune as I intend it. This is to encourage people to add their own twiddles, rather than copying mine exactly. Ornaments are a personal stylistic thing, and I sometimes find that trying to recreate someone else's rather than ornamenting a tune in the way I would naturally do it can interrupt the flow and make it sound a bit wooden. The same goes for bowings. These melodies are just the bones of the music, to be interpreted as you like. In a full arrangement I would normally play each one multiple times.


You can also download these tunes in four part harmony, which can be played by string quartets, trios or duets. These are available in a separate sheet music pack, here:

Please note: * the piano parts that you can hear in the recordings are for the purpose of demonstrating the chord symbols that are included on the scores. There are no scored piano parts included in the sheet music. *

Bandcamp is primarily a platform for selling recorded music, but allows the inclusion of "extras", so I sell my sheet music this way: the sheet music is an extra file (a pdf) that comes included in the package, and you also get the audio recordings.

How the Download Process Works
----------------------------------------------

Once you've paid through the Bandcamp checkout, the download arrives immediately via a link in your email, which takes you to a webpage from which you download a .zip file containing recordings and digital sheet music.

You'll need to select the audio format, because the sheet music package also contains audio -- but you will automatically get your pdf files too, so you can pick whichever audio format you like and it won't affect your sheet music files.

You won't be able to view the sheet music files in your browser or within the Bandcamp app -- the zip file needs to be downloaded and opened in order to see and print them.
